Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust

Business Profile

The Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) operates services in 200 locations across Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire.

The Trust headquarters, Woodfield House, is based on the Tickhill Road Hospital site in Balby, Doncaster. The Trust offers mental health and learning disability services, community services, such as district nursing and health visitors, and around 115,000 people now access their services each year.

Business Needs

When OFCOM found and removed a non-compliant mobile signal booster in the building, the HQ of the RDaSH NHS Foundation Trust was left without mobile signal coverage in key areas.

This put them in a precarious position as mobile connectivity is essential to provide their services to their staff and visitors.

The Problem

Their staff and other users complained to the IT team about the inferior service and its ensuing impact on the hospital.

The IT department needed a legal solution that could be implemented quickly.

The Solution

Following several consultations detailing the incumbent solution, it was determined that the Cel-Fi GO X mobile signal booster would be compatible, leading to a quick turnaround and installation. This highly evolved signal booster can amplify mobile signals up to 100 dB, and it also has a rugged IP65 rated design, which means it can withstand harsh conditions including dust or water exposure. Cel-Fi GO X uses award-winning Intelliboost signal processing to deliver the industry’s largest coverage footprint, with the best voice and data wireless performance. Cel-Fi GO X also has the benefit of not interfering with other wireless devices.

The Results

Cel-Fi GO X solution presented the Trust with a legal solution. Swift installation improved EE mobile coverage in the building. The Trust is considering adding more Cel-Fi GO X boosters to cover all areas of the hospital.

"CEL-FI has significantly improved the signal in parts of the building where it's deployed. We will look to buy additional boosters to cover the other areas of the hospital."

"We are happy for you to reference our trust as a user when getting enquiries from other trusts"
