At Bronglais General Hospital, they needed to improve EE mobile signal coverage in all areas of the existing and new built hospital wing. Boosting solutions from the mobile network was insufficient and Wi-Fi calling proved ineffective.

Business Needs

Healthcare providers need to be able to provide care to their patients. This also means being able to be in constant communication with their staff and patients and have a stable and reliable mobile connectivity. The NHS Hywel Dda University Health Board wanted to improve the EE mobile signal in the new wing and around the existing areas of the hospital. They had tried other boosting solutions in the past but they couldn’t resolve the poor signal solution. The health board decided they needed to find a cost-effective solution and was advised Cel-Fi Signal Boosters was what they needed.

The Problem

Hywel Dda University Health Board needed to be able to maintain a reliable mobile signal throughout the existing and new wing at Bronglais General Hospital. Also be able to boost EE signal throughout the entire building.

The Solution

Following a site inspection, the Cel-Fi QUATRA mobile signal boosters were fitted. The Cel-Fi QUATRA is a scalable in-building mobile system for delivering high-quality signal in venues up to 200,000 ft2.

It is a cost-efficient and easy-to-deploy solution that combines the best of active DAS and Smart Booster technologies that utilising CAT 5e/6 cabling for RF and power over ethernet, with no signal attenuation right to the perimeter of the building.

The Results

The Cel-Fi QUATRA solution significantly improved the EE mobile coverage in the building and provided the cost-effective solution the board were looking for.

“CEL-FI QUATRA mobile signal booster solution resolved the mobile coverage issues in the existing and new wing of the hospital. Since the system was fitted, the mobile signal has gone from zero to steady two-three bars. It's been a lifesaver for us.”
